I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I grew up and lived until I graduated from high school. Since graduating, I have lived and worked in Virginia, Tennessee, and (most recently) Georgia. I was a Social Worker in my "last life", where I was employed by Salem VA Hospital (Salem, VA), Blue Ridge Community Services (Roanoke, VA), Gwinnett County Public Schools, and the state office of DFCS. My educational career includes work with Gwinnett County Public Schools, Douglas County School System, and (most recently) Pickens County Schools.
I am certified in Special Education, English and hold GA state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker.
I have a great family! My husband, Dr. Chad Flatt, is an Assistant Principal in Pickens County Schools; our children - Jackson, Ruby, Quincy, and Gus - are involved in the Pickens County school system as well.
We love to watch/play football, hang out in the backyard, and read together. I enjoy photography, running, watching hockey, and figuring out new ways to get students to LOVE learning!
